| 107 | Ceremonies and Sponsors in Baptism --- (1) Blessed salt is put into the child's mouth to signify wisdom received through Baptism. (2) The essential part of Baptism is the pouring of water together with the saying of the words of baptism. At that moment the godparents must be touchng the child. (3) A lighted candle is given to the person baptized, or if an infant, to the sponsors to denote the light of the Holy Ghost received. | |
